HANOVER, Ind. – The men's soccer team hits the pitch on Saturday as they welcome a very talented Ohio Wesleyan team.
REVIEW: The Panthers enter the contest 2-3-0 overall after dropping a road contest at Ohio Northern, 2-0. In the contest with the Polar Bears, junior Josh Hughes (Lafayette, La.) paced the way firing off two shots through 72 minutes of work. As a team, the Blue and Red finished with six shots, two of which were on frame.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Sophomore Luke Eppler (Evansville, Ind.) leads the team this season with a game-high three goals and nine shots. Hughes has also posted a strong campaign with a team-high four assists, ranking him among the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference best. In frame, Hanover is led by junior Aaron Stocksdale (Louisville, Ky.) with 17 saves through 450 minutes of action. The junior has appeared in all five games this season for the Blue and Red.
SCOUTING THE BATTLING BISHOPS: Ohio Wesleyan hits the pitch at 3-3-1 overall after falling to Otterbein 1-0. The Battling Bishops are led this season by Ryan Roberts with two goals on 16 shots. Antonio Romanelli also ranks among the teams best with one goal and a team-high two assists. As a team, Ohio Wesleyan has netted eight goals and registered four assists.
