HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover College men's soccer team enters the weekend 6-5-1 overall, 3-1 HCAC after handing Rose-Hulman their first conference loss of the season, 2-1.
REVIEW: In the contest with the Fightin' Engineers the Panthers were led by junior Josh Hughes (Lafayette, La.) with two goals, including the game-winner in the 87th minute. As a team, the Blue and Red fired off a game-high seven shots with six of which were on frame. Junior Will Bedel (Walton, Ky.) got the win in goal after making two saves through 90 minutes of work.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Blue and Red enter the weekend with 164 shots and 19 goals scored. The team is averaging 13.7 shots per contest, led by sophomore Luke Eppler (Evansville, Ind.) with 34 total shots. The sophomore also leads the team in goals (7) and points (14). Hughes continues to climb the ranks for the Panthers as he moves into second in shots (33) and goals (3). The junior leads the team in assists with five.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS: Bluffton enters the weekend at 5-9 overall, 0-4 HCAC after dropping a 1-0 decision with Earlham. As a team, the Beavers have tallied 244 shots, with 39 goals scored. Leading the charge this season is Dalton Taynor with 10 goals scored and 24 points.
