Panthers Rank Fifth Through Two Days of Competition

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Hanover men's swimming team currently sits fifth among the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference following day two of the Championships. The Panthers have tallied 135 points through two days of competition. 

Leading the charge was the 200-yard medley relay of sophomore James Moll (Tipton, Ind.), sophomore Will Morgan (Napel, Ind.), and sophomore Louis Holbrook (New Palestine, Ind.) finishing fifth overall with a time of 1:40.93, improving on their seed time of 1:41.90. 

Also taking fifth place in the meet was the 800-yard freestyle team of Holbrook, Moll, Morgan and freshman Alex Dafforn (Indianapolis, Ind.) in a time of 7:28.56. Moll also garnered a ninth place mark in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.83. 

The team of Dafforn, sophomore Kyle Pfaffenberger (Seymour, Ind.), sophomore Nathan Cooper (Amelia, Ohio), and freshman Grant Willis (Booneville, Ind.) claimed a 10th place finish in the 200-yard medley relay touching the wall in 1:44.72.

Dafforn found continued success in the 400-yard IM taking 10th with a time of 4:32.85, while teammate Holbrook took 11th in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:49.04, improving on his prelim time of 1:49.45.

In the 100-yard butterfly, sophomore Davis Guthier (Fort Thomas, Ky.) captured an 11th place finish with a time of 56.65, while Morgan and Pfaffenberger rounded out the field for Hanover in the 100-yard breaststroke with 11th and 12th place finishes respectively. Morgan touched the wall in a time of 1:02.66 while teammate Pfaffenberger followed him with a mark of 1:03.43.

 The Blue and Red return to action tomorrow on the final day of the HCAC Championships. Prelims are set for 10:00 AM.
