HANOVER, Ind. - The NCAA Committee for Women's Athletics has recommended STUNT for emerging sport status announced Tuesday afternoon.
Each Division within the NCAA will vote to adopt STUNT as a sport in their respective Divisions. STUNT is one of the fastest growing female sports in the country that focuses on the technical components of cheer, including partner stunts, pyramids, basket tosses, group jumps and tumbling.
"This is a very exciting time to be able to represent the organization as a whole, and for the many female student-athletes who are, and will continue to, make this a championship sport and become a part of history," praised head STUNT coach Lorieanne Rinehart.
