DEFIANCE, Ohio – Seven different Panthers scored on 26 total shots as Hanover cruised to victory over HCAC conference opponent Defiance.
With the win, Hanover (10-5-2 overall, 7-1-1 HCAC) retains sole possession of second place in the HCAC and will host a game in the first round of the HCAC Championship.
All nine of the Panthers' goals were scored in the first half as Autumn Boothby (Mount Orab, Ohio) and Ruby Kate Gray (Lexington, Ky.) each scored two goals, Boothby also added and assist in the contest.
Hanover scored a total of nine goals on 26 shots for a season high shooting percentage of .346 en route to earning their second consecutive shutout victory.
Josie Dattilo (Montgomery, Ohio) started the scoring frenzy in the 6th minute of the game with an unassisted goal. Less than three minutes later, Boothby found Anna Smith (Cincinnati, Ohio) for Smith's fourth goal on the season.
Three other Panthers found the back of the net in the first half as Kelsey Hughes (Noblesville, Ind.) scored her fifth goal of the season, Maggie Day (Sellersburg, Ind.) added another goal to her season tally, and Natalie Fausz (Alexandria, Ky.) scored her first goal of the season with less than five minutes remaining in the half.
Emma Debolt (West Chester, Ohio) came away with the victory for the Panthers as three different goalkeepers saw nearly identical minutes. Amanda Carmosino (Noblesville, Ind.) played a third of the game and collected three saves and Katie Perry (Indianapolis, Ind.) collected a save of her own while playing a third of the game as well.
As a team, the Panthers were impressive with 23 of their 26 shots landing on goal.
The Panthers will play host to the winner between Franklin and Mount St. Joseph on Tuesday, November 5th at 2 P.M.
