Panthers Notch Second Place Finish as Part of the Indiana DIII Invitational

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Hanover women's swimming and diving team opened the season with a strong performance as they claimed a second-place finish as part of the Indiana Division III Invitational hosted by Wabash College on Saturday afternoon.

The Panthers finished runner-up to DePauw who won the team title, while Rose-Hulman finished third.

The Blue and Red were led on the day by Nora Miodrag winning the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:38.24.

The Panthers tallied a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay as the team of Sydney Schulok, Olivia Loran, Kelli Brock, and Ilys Anderson finished the race with a time of 1:58.22.

Megan Quinn found success in the 200-yard freeestyle as she finished fifth in the eight-competitor field in a time of 2:08.43. Teammates Faith Gomez and Michaela Diem finished seventh and eighth respectively in the event.

Megan Quinn also posted a strong finish for the Panthers as she claimed a second-place mark in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:45.87.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Loran placed fourth overall in a time of 1:05.55, while Elizabeth Kepperling finished 10th.

Liz Bolinger led the Panthers in the 100-yard breaststroke, claiming a fifth-place finish in a time of 1:18.57.

The Blue and Red dominated the 50-yard freestyle as Loran finished fourth in a time of 26.34, followed by teammates Anderson in sixth, Brock in eighth and Lindsey Hoskins in 10th.

Schulok registered a ninth-place finish in the 100-yard IM with teammate Bolinger taking 10th in a time of 1:11.84.

Anderson continued to have success in the pool as she claimed a top-three finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.55. Hoskins took seventh in the race.

The 200-yard backstroke saw Megan Brandt place fifth overall with a time of 2:30.66. In the 100-yard butterfly, Kelli Brock marked a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:05.08, while Emelia Currins placed seventh in a time of 1:10.32.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Anderson, Brock, Brandt, and Loran combined for a second-place finish with a total time of 3:55.05.

The Panthers return to action on Saturday, November 9 as they open Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action with Franklin.
