HANOVER, Ind. - The Hanover women's swimming and diving team dominated Rose-Hulman as part of the teams final Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season dual hosted at Southwestern High School. The Panthers topped the Fightin' Engineers by a score of 123-90.
Freshman Megan Quinn (Richmond, Ind.) opened the dual strong for the Blue and Red as she claimed the top spot in the 1,000-yard freestyle touching the wall in a time of 11:55.67.
The first place finishes continued for Hanover as freshman Lindsey Hoskins (Columbia City, Ind.) won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:13.67, defeating the Rose opponent by nearly three seconds. In the 50-yard backstroke, freshman Ilys Anderson (Hebron, Ky.) and sophomore Elizabeth Kepperling (Lagrange, Ky.) would take first and second place, respectively. Anderson won the event in a time of 29.94, while teammate Kepperling finished runner-up with a time of 35.56.
Freshman Liz Bolinger (Kendalville, Ind.) dominated the 50-yard breaststroke swimming the event in a time of 36.23, while freshman Maddie Difillippo (Cincinnati, Ohio) captured the top spot in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.18.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Anderson again deemed clutch as she captured the event in a time of 58.99, defeating her opponent by nearly two seconds. Senior Megan Brandt (Guyton, Ga.) competed as part of the 500-yard freestyle swimming a first place time of 6:04.63.
Difillippo went on to win the 50-yard butterfly in 29.23, while freshman Emelia Currin (New Albany, Ind.) claimed first place in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:39.70.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Brandt, Hoskins, sophomore Sydney Schulok (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Anderson rounded out the afternoon for the Blue and Red winning the event with a time of 1:48.71.
Hanover returns to action on Thursday, February 13 through Saturday, February 15 when they compete as part of the HCAC Championships hosted in Terre Haute, Ind.
