Volleyball Heads South to Take on Nationally Ranked Pioneers

HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers head south for a tough Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup with nationally ranked Transylvania on Wednesday evening.

REVIEW: The Panthers enter the contest with a perfect 2-0 HCAC record defeating Defiance (3-2) and Mt. St. Joseph (3-0). Over the weekend, Hanover competed as part of a tri-match hosted by Ohio Wesleyan where the Blue and Red dropped a match to Hiram (3-0) and host, OWU (3-1).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Hanover has tallied 862 total kills this season, averaging 11.49 kills per set. As a team, they are hitting .162 with 791 assists. Leading the charge for the Blue and Red is sophomore Emma Rolf (Lebanon, Ind.) with a team-leading 190 kills. The sophomore is averaging 2.53 kills per set with a .129 hitting percentage. Freshman Adrianne Vance (Indianapolis, Ind.) continues to find success at the net as well as she has tallied 186 kills, averaging a team-best 3.00 kills per set. Defensively, senior Ally Williams (Fountaintown ,Ind.) is just shy of 500 kills for the season with 441, averaging 5.88 per set. She also has tallied 25 service aces.

SCOUTING TRANSY: The No. 21-ranked Pioneers enter Wednesday's contest at 18-4 overall, 3-0 HCAC after defeating Bluffton 3-1. In the contest, Transylvania was led by Ellie Stigger with 17 kills and a .455 hitting percentage. Hannah Talkers also had success with 46 assists, earning her HCAC Athlete of the Week honors. As a team, the Pioneers have tallied 1,041 kills, averaging 13.70 kills per set.
