Panthers Enter Final Week of Regular Season Action

HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers enter the final week of regular season action at 15-10 overall, 4-2 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference after falling in straight sets at Rose-Hulman (3-0).

HCAC STANDING: The Panthers enter the final week ranked third among the Conference. Leading the charge is nationally ranked Transylvania with a perfect 7-0 record followed by Rose-Hulman at 5-2 overall. Earlham claims the fourth spot, while four teams are locked in a tie for fifth place.

REVIEW: Despite falling in straight sets (21-25, 23-25, 13-25 to Rose-Hulman, freshman Adrianne Vance (Indianapolis, Ind.) tallied a strong performance with seven kills and two and a half block. As a team, the Blue and Red tallied 31 kills with six total blocks.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Panthers continue to dominate at the net as their 1.89 blocks per set ranks them among the best in the HCAC and places them in the top 50 among NCAA Division III institutions. The Blue and Red have tallied 1,088 total kills led by sophomore Emma Rolf (Lebanon, Ind.) with 262 kills, averaging 2.79 kills per set. The sophomore has also tallied 28 service aces and 45 total blocks. Vance enters the week averaging 2.79 kills per set with a .205 hitting percentage. Senior Ally Williams (Fountaintown, Ind.) paces the defensive efforts with 550 digs, averaging 5.85 digs per set.

SCOUTING FRANKLIN: The Grizzlies enter the week with 1,244 kills, averaging 11.85 kills per set. Leading Franklin this season is Kyndall Boyll averaging 3.03 kills per set with 315 total kills. Senior Kyra Harvey has tallied 270 total kills at 2.60 kills per set, while Abby Sewell has added 71 total blocks, including 20 solo stops.

SCOUTING MANCHESTER: The Spartans 10-14 overall, 0-6 HCAC enter the week with a contest at Anderson on Wednesday before taking on the Panthers Friday evening. They have recorded 1,031 total kills, averaging 11.58 kills per set. Leading the Spartan attack is Halle Planck averaging 3.11 kills per set with a .154 hitting percentage. Defensively, senior Anna Marie Lawrie has recorded 412 total digs with a team-best 4.63 digs per set.

SCOUTING ANDERSON: Hanover wraps up the regular season on Saturday as they welcome Anderson. The Ravens enter the week 8-15 overall, 2-5 HCAC after falling to Earlham in straight sets. The team is led this season by Olivia Rice with 160 kills and a .193 hitting percentage. Felicity Bontrager has also found success on the court with 153 kills and 19 assists. The Ravens have recorded 845 kills while averaging 10.70 kills per set.
